I photographed the abandoned South Bend Studebaker Factory to capture the beauty of things left behind. The automotive factory in South Bend, IN was built in the 20's and closed in 1963. The building covers nearly .2 square miles, most of which has been left untouched since the 60's. A Notre Dame alumni bought the property and is renovating the factory into a high-tech children's science center within the next 10 years. I got to photograph the building before the renovation went into full force in the spring of 2015. I'm inspired by the photography of #MatthewChristopher in his series #abandonedAmerica in which he captures the beauty of abandoned spaces and advocates for the reservation and reuse of buildings around the country, much like the Studebaker Factory.
